## 2026-10-12: `provider` on card payments now returns `card`

The `provider` field on card payments now always returns `card`, whichever card processor handled the payment. Earlier responses could carry a processor-specific value.

This applies to:

* the `POST /business/payment/charge` response, including an idempotent replay of an earlier charge
* the `payment.created` webhook for card payments

The field is still present, so code that reads it keeps working. If your integration branched on a processor-specific value, switch it to `card`. `provider` is the payment method family, not routing information. It has never been needed to confirm, refund or reconcile a payment.
